Massage Treatments

Abhyanga

This wonderful Ayurvedic therapy consists of a full head and body massage performed by two practitioners working in complete synchronisation on either side of your body. Warm oils are lovingly applied in a continuous flowing sequence.  The depth, speed and type of oil applied varies according to your Ayurvedic body type.

Vishesh

A deep massage with firm, kneading actions to help promote the release of tension, improve circulation and support detoxification. It is especially helpful for soothing sore, tired or aching muscles.

Udvartana

A fast vigorous massage with coarse herbal paste. It enlivens and energises the body helping promote circulation, healthier skin, and firmer muscle tone. This treatment helps break down fatty deposits and cellulite and is therefore recommended for those wishing to lose weight. It is generally combined with Svedana for enhanced results.

Shirodhara

In this treatment, a steady stream of warm oil is slowly poured rhythmically across the forehead, calming the mind, and soothing the nervous system. Clients often refuse to get up afterwards! It usually accompanies Abhyanga or Vishesh.

Svedana

A steam treatment that allows the body to perspire and release impurities. It often accompanies Vishesh and Udvartana treatments to increase their effectiveness.

Marma therapy

A subtle healing and energy balancing treatment which works by stimulating the 108 maram (energy points) on the body.
